Fire alarm informer system for the deaf and hard of hearing.

Blick Saffire provides radio-based emergency messaging linked to fire or evacuation systems, which enhances safety and provides reassurance for the deaf, hard of hearing and other disabled people. It helps employers meet their responsibilities for ensuring adequate warning and protection during emergencies under the Disability Discrimination Act1995 and its amendments.


	Blick Saffire® provides radio-based emergency messaging linked to fire or evacuation systems, which enhances safety and provides reassurance for the deaf, hard of hearing and other disabled people.

The system uses specially-designed, securely monitored vibrating pagers that are linked to the fire alarm system. In an emergency, they vibrate, flash, and display alerts to those unable to hear conventional audible alarms. The system can cover both indoor and outdoor areas to ensure complete protection of a campus, hotel or other public building.

Blick Saffire® maintains a secure connection between its central control unit and the building's fire alarm system so that, if the fire alarm is activated, a signal is sent from the fire panel to the Blick Saffire® system which transmits a warning call to all pagers or to pre-defined groups of users. The pagers bleep so that others around them are also alerted. This warning signal is repeated until the fire alarm is cancelled.

Blick Saffire® is designed on a modular basis so that maximum benefit can be obtained. Saffire® refuge call points can be provided that so that disabled people can send messages to say when they are in a safe area, but in need of assistance. Saffire® bedside units use vibration and light to wake those asleep when a fire alarm is activated.
